Reno’s coffee game is strong. Here’s our picks for the top coffee bars in Reno.
Magpie Coffee Roasters
Don’t mistake Magpie Coffee Roasters’ laid back vibe for weak coffee, they roast full-bodied, flavorful brews. We highly recommend their Reynaldo Mairena from Nicaragua. It won them a Good Food Award back in 2015, and to this day we can’t get enough. Located off Wells Avenue, Magpie offers pretty much everything a coffee-lover could ask for; local roasts, pour overs, and not-to-be-messed-with espresso. We’re starting to salivate just thinking about it.
Hub Coffee Roasters
Located in the beautiful Riverside District in Reno, Hub Coffee Roasters is the perfect hangout any day of the week. It gets our vote for the most aesthetically pleasing of Reno coffee bars, and also happens to be one of our favorite places to go when we want to plug in our laptop and get to work. Here, baristas are highly adept at serving a common influx of customers, and it doesn’t hurt that Hub’s roasts hit the taste buds just right. For college students in need of a much sought after energy kick, Hub has a second location at UNR.
Old World Coffee Lab
Nestled in Midtown off California Avenue, Old World Coffee is yet another great example of a Reno Coffee establishment that has turned to roasting their own bean. Inside, a white tiled bar with a wooden backdrop give this coffee shop a hip, modern feel. We’re particularly fond of Old World’s lattes, which rotate seasonally. If it’s available, you can’t go wrong with the Orange Blossom Latte – delicious! Other highlights include their french press and Mocha Drogata.
